AWOL since at least September, Mr Henwood has now been located and has even handed in his homework. Any hope that his behaviour would have been improved by a holiday are sadly in vain: he still mumbles, doesn’t tell you what the tracks are called, and tries to fit too many tunes into a 2 hour programme. That a number of these are by the redoubtable Mahmoud Ahmed & the Imperial Bodyguard Band, and even more by Mr Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno and his dodgy chums, is some compensation, however. With certifiable cult performers like Anne Briggs, Jasmine Myra and The Destroyers you can join us in the obscure corner, tho’ a very early appearance of both Taj Mahal and Ry Cooder gets a bit close to artists you might have heard of. Assente almeno da settembre, il signor Henwood è stato rintracciato e ha persino consegnato i compiti. Ogni speranza che il suo comportamento sarebbe migliorato con una vacanza è purtroppo vana: borbotta ancora, non dice come si chiamano i brani e cerca di infilare troppi pezzi in un programma di due ore. Il fatto che alcuni di questi siano dei formidabili Mahmoud Ahmed & the Imperial Bodyguard Band, e ancora di più di Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno e dei suoi loschi amici, è comunque una piccola compensazione. Con artisti di culto come Anne Briggs, Jasmine Myra e The Destroyers, potete unirvi a noi nell’angolo oscuro, anche se una delle prime apparizioni di Taj Mahal e Ry Cooder si avvicina un po’ ad artisti di cui potreste aver sentito parlare. Meno male che non ha trovato l’album di John Lennon, allora…
