OUTERNATIONAL ARTISTS n°49 by Steve Henwood – 02-03-2025

Outernational Artists seven-by-seven turns out to be pleasingly low on guitars, with more than half of the show totally guitar-less – often dominated instead by those growling Behemoths of electric organs bands with vans & roadies used to play in the ‘60s. Contrariwise [of course], Orchestra Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp have two guitarists, at least officially, but they also have two marimba players, and the latter dominates the sound way more than any six-string squirt, however beefy the amplification. You won’t miss them!

Outernational Artists sette X sette risulta piacevolmente povero di chitarre, con più della metà del programma totalmente privo di chitarre, spesso dominato invece da quei Behemoth ringhianti di organi elettrici che le band con furgoni e roadie erano solite suonare negli anni ’60. Al contrario (ovviamente), l’ Orchestra Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp ha due chitarristi, almeno ufficialmente, ma hanno anche due suonatori di marimba, e quest’ultimo strumento domina il suono molto più di qualsiasi squirt a sei corde, per quanto potente sia l’amplificazione. Non vi mancheranno!
