Outernational Artists nr58 – Steve Henwood – 01_02_2026

We recommend this session if you’re tired of Mr Henwood wittering away between tracks – after all, it’s the music that’s the important thing, right? This edition comprises several long pieces – on the prog rock principle that if a thing is worth doing it’s worth overdoing – only one more than the legendary Programme 32 (https://cosmicfringeradio.com/…/outernational-artists…/). Whch means that Mr Henwood has fewer spaces to fill. He’s not even telling us the good stories anyway: the soap opera of Yes lineups, ditto The Albion Band, the unpredictabiliy of Miles Davis bands & concerts in the early 1970s, the acrimony in the collapse of The Creation, need I go on [well yes, you haven’t mentioned Dick Gaughan or Gil Scott-Heron yet, both really significant stories]. Consigliamo questa sessione se siete stanchi di sentire il Sig. Henwood blaterare tra una traccia e l’altra: dopotutto, è la musica che conta, no? Questa puntata comprende diversi pezzi lunghi, basati sul principio del prog rock secondo cui se una cosa vale la pena farla, vale la pena esagerare, solo uno in più del leggendario Programma nr 32 (https://cosmicfringeradio.com/…/outernational-artists…/) . Il che significa che il Sig. Henwood ha meno spazi da riempire. Non ci racconta nemmeno le belle storie comunque: la soap opera delle formazioni degli Yes, idem quella dell’Albion Band, l’imprevedibilità delle band e dei concerti di Miles Davis nei primi anni ’70, l’asprezza nel crollo dei Creation, devo continuare?
